BRINGING FADED MEMORIES
TO LIFE AGAIN
Since the day the first climbers walked into Long Dong, countless stories have been played out by generations of adventurers on these bright golden walls. But the dignified stone of Long Dong remains in stoic silence, and along the stream of time, those fragile old memories start to fade. To keep these memories alive, we hope to collect vintage recollections of Long Dong, even if they are just blurry images, or short paragraphs describing long-ago days on the cliffs. We wish to hear more old stories of Long Dong, to bring back the visage of its earlier days, and get to know more about our old friend.
In order to revive memories of the golden age of Long Dong, we are collecting vintage photos and documents, and restoring these treasured materials so as to preserve the old stories and images from the early days. For historically significant events (such as large organized activities, new crag development, first ascents of classic routes, or difficulty breakthroughs) that lack photographic or text documentation, we would like to conduct interviews with knowledgeable persons, and preserve transcriptions as documentation to add to the community’s recorded history of Long Dong.
